Our mission: To heal, and grow together
Starting in July 2026, our family of six is preparing to embark on an extraordinary adventure. We are leaving the comfort of Switzerland to join the Global Mercy, the world’s largest civilian hospital ship, in the harbour of Tema (Ghana).
- Philippe, an anesthesiologist,
will use his skills to help the most disadvantaged to enable vital surgical operations. - Laura, a photographer by training,
will provide support where the needs are greatest. - Noâm, Lyas, Mahé, and Nayah-Lou, the children,
will experience this humanitarian immersion alongside us, attending school on board and discovering solidarity from a very young age. They will not be the only children and will also contribute to community life on board.
Why do we need you ?
Joining Mercy Ships is 100% volunteer work. To make this mission possible, we must self-fund all of our costs.
Our core funding goal :
First step: 15’000 CHF by the end of May !
Pledges of monthly donations
(starting in July) :
to cover regular or anticipated future costs
Your donations will go 100% towards funding our costs:
- Healthcare : 42 vaccines, prophylactic medications, and medical insurance
- Transportation : for the outbound journey (and return journey…), local expenses, and administrative fees (passports)
- Daily expenses : for 24 months : clothing, communications, meals outside (we will be fed and housed on board)
- Logistics : preparations for departure, additional training (pediatric anesthesia, language), anticipating our return and planning ahead.
